Making Our Lives a Gift to Him and Others

January 9, 2015

One Friday each month, we offer Eucharistic Adoration in our school chapel.

We started a ‘Student Adoration Team’ (SAT) last year. Students from Theology classes fill the chapel most of the day, but I was hoping that I might have 8-10 students interested in signing up for the SAT, to ensure that there was always someone present in the chapel.

Imagine my joy at having 25 students who wanted to be a part of this…and that number has grown to 40 this year!

As they spend time in Adoration today, I have asked them to reflect on these words of Pope Francis: “Jesus speaks in the silence of the mystery of the Eucharist and reminds us each time that following him means going out of ourselves and making our lives not something we ‘possess,’ but a gift to him and to others.”

Reflecting on these words is just half the battle…then they must go out and do it!
