November 25, 2018 – Solemnity of Christ the King
Jesus Christ is the faithful witness,
the firstborn of the dead and ruler of the kings of the earth.
To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood,
who has made us into a kingdom, priests for his God and Father,
to him be glory and power forever and ever. Amen. (Revelations 1:5-8)
What a fitting end to the liturgical year – a celebration of Christ the King!
The passage above from Revelations recounts Christ’s sacrifice for us, a sacrifice that came out of love. We are called to take notice of our many blessings on this solemnity by offering prayers of gratitude to God.
God’s love for us is limitless. His sacrifices on our behalf are many. The humility He showed in taking on human form to save us inspires awe.
Count your blessings today. Thank God for the incredible gifts He has given you. Give Him your attention today.
