Everything is possible to one who has faith (Mark 9:14-29)
In today’s Gospel, Jesus offered comforting words to all who suffer. These are wise words to print out and put on your refrigerator at home, or above the door of your office.
We all have times when we have reached our breaking point. They cut back our hours at work. Our spouse is sick and our child’s college tuition is due. The car is in need of repair. Our friend is hurt because we haven’t been in touch. We feel alone and depressed. We tread water but feel ourselves sinking. One thing after another piles on and we want to scream, “I can’t do this anymore!” We feel as if we will never be able to climb our way out of this hole.
That’s when we focus on Jesus’ comforting words – “Everything is possible to one who has faith.”
You are not alone. Never say, “Never” as long as Jesus is around. The key is making sure He is around. Don’t forget, no matter how bad things get, to invite Him to be a part of your life.
