November 24, 2019 – Solemnity of Christ the King
Let us give thanks to the Father, who has made you fit to share in the inheritance of the holy ones in light. He delivered us from the power of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. (Colossians 1:12-20)
What a fitting prelude to the Thanksgiving holiday and end to the liturgical year – a celebration of Christ the King!
The passage above from the letter to the Colossians is just the beginning of a list of blessings that St. Paul details for us. We are called to take notice of these many blessings on this solemnity by offering prayers of gratitude to God.
God’s love for us is limitless. His sacrifices on our behalf are many. The humility He showed in taking on human form to save us inspires awe.
Count your blessings today. Thank God for the incredible gifts He has given you. Give Him your attention today.
