September 1 – World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation

August 25, 2020

Pope Francis recently declared next Tuesday, September 1, as the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation.

According to Pope Francis, “The annual World Day of prayer for the Care of Creation offers to individual believers and to the community a precious opportunity to renew our personal participation in this vocation as custodians of creation, raising to God our thanks for the marvelous works that He has entrusted to our care, invoking his help for the protection of creation and his mercy for the sins committed against the world in which we live.”

At 7:00 a.m. (Eastern time) on September 1, my wife Carol and I will be leading a live-streamed morning prayer in support of this worldwide effort on our parish Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/spxparishindy/

You are welcome to join us! If you are unable to join us, the prayer session will be videotaped and posted on that same Facebook page soon afterwards.

Regardless of whether or not you are able to pray with us, we do encourage you to stop at some point in your day on September 1 and raise to God your thanks for the marvelous works that He has entrusted to your care.

God bless you!
