The latest encyclical from Pope Francis, Fratelli Tutti (On Fraternity and Social Friendship) encourages us “to acknowledge, appreciate and love each person, regardless of physical proximity, regardless of where he or she was born or lives.”
Pope Francis invites the Church to live out the call to universal fraternity and social friendship. The third encyclical of his pontificate offers “a way of life marked by the flavor of the Gospel” and shares a vision for humanity that he has emphasized throughout his papacy: “It is my desire that, in this our time, by acknowledging the dignity of each human person, we can contribute to the rebirth of a universal aspiration to fraternity. Brotherhood between all men and women.”
He is clear with his marching orders: “It is the role of all Christians to reawaken the spiritual energy that can contribute to the betterment of society.”
