Ambassadors for Christ

February 17, 2021 – Ash Wednesday

Each day during Lent, I will be highlighting a Lenten Word (or phrase) of the Day from the readings of the day. I encourage you to reflect on this word or phrase throughout the day and incorporate it in your daily prayer.

We are ambassadors for Christ, as if God were appealing through us. (2 Corinthians 5:20)

AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST: The Lenten season calls us to humility, taking the focus off of our own desires and directing our attention instead toward the needs of others. By emptying ourselves in this way, we are being sacrificial; we are following the example, in some small way, of the Paschal sacrifice of Jesus.

To be an ambassador for Christ is to be a walking billboard, advertising to the world that we are committed to loving as we are called to love.
