Come to Me

July 15, 2021

Each day, I reflect upon a word or a phrase from the readings of the day. I encourage you to do the same and perhaps incorporate that word or phrase into your daily prayer.

Today’s readings: Exodus 3:13-20 and Matthew 11:28-30

God told Moses: I am concerned about you…so I have decided to lead you up out of the misery

Jesus told His disciples: Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest

COME TO ME: The same message from today’s two readings rings true today. We don’t have to fight the fight alone. God wants to help. He is concerned about us and offers to relieve us of our burdens. He recognizes that we are drained and at our breaking point, and encourages us to seek rest in Him.

We’re spinning your wheels anyway…what do we have to lose?
